Tonight I had no words to pray, so I read the prayers of Hannah and David. If you are in need of prayers for divorce healing, or any kind of healing, you will find strength in reading the following prayers.
Hannah, remember Hannah from the Old Testament? She was accused of being drunk in the temple. In I Samuel 2:1-10 we get a glimpse into her heart. Hanna offered praises to God amid desperate times. God will be a rock–a strong foundation–for you, too.
Prayers for Divorce Healing: Hannah’s Praises
“My heart rejoices in the Lord!
The Lord has made me strong.
Now I have an answer for my enemies;
I rejoice because you rescued me.
No one is holy like the Lord!
There is no one besides you;
there is no Rock like our God.
David’s Prayer for Strength
But you, Lord, are a shield around me,
my glory, the One who lifts my head high. (Psalm 3)
Ah, a shield. Did you catch that? God will lift your head when you’ve lost your way.
A Prayer for You from Hello New Life
Jesus, it is by Your help that I leave my past
I want to live in the present, not the past, for that’s where You dwell.
behind and press onward to a new life—a life of happiness and one without regret. Help me to find happiness each and every day. Help me to recognize nostalgia when it presents itself. Even though it is good to remember some things about the past, help me not to dwell there. I don’t wish to live there anymore. I want to live in the present, not the past, for that’s where You dwell. I put my hope, faith, and trust in You. I claim Lamentations 3:25 as a promise of Your goodness toward me. “You are good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.” Jesus, I anticipate Your goodness.
